Tripoli Pizza Salisbury 23 Broadway Salisbury Beach Center Salisbury, MA 01952 978-465-3846
In 1944 the Zappala family decided to experiment and opened a pizza shop at their Bakery on Common Street in Lawrence, Massachusetts. The pizza business seemed to have some potential, so on Memorial Day 1945 Angelo Zappala and family expanded and opened a small garage door style pizza stand at Salisbury Beach, which soon became popular with the large beach crowds. In 1946 Rosario Macarone "MAC" was hired to manage Tripoli Pizza of Salisbury working in conjunction with the Zappala sisters Mary, Grace, Josephine, and Connie. These Tripoli pioneers devoted hard work and commitment laid the foundation for Tripoli Pizza's future and set a standard that still is maintained today. Sixty seven years later Tripoli Pizza still serves hot, fresh, hand rolled pizza providing smiles and tradition to first time customers as well as faithful patrons who were there years ago.
